About Johanna

I believe therapy is a process and a start of a relationship which I hope that through working together, I am able to guide and offer different perspectives during that journey. I am committed to providing care that is centered around clients, working towards goals that have been identified and that feel important to the client as they are the experts of their lives. I believe that all individuals are capable of healing and growth that can be aided with an empathetic and supportive therapist. I aspire to provide compassion, empathy, and a safe space to explore feelings, thoughts, and patterns of behavior. I strive to adapt my therapeutic approach to fit the needs of each individual with dedicated compassion, support, encouragement, useful feedback, and unwavering non-judgmental positive regard. As a bilingual in Spanish woman, I am attuned to the impact of cultural differences on an individual’s experience and to the stigma behind mental health and I approach therapy using a Multicultural lens that incorporates every part of your identity into therapy. I have worked with clients of all ages (4 – 98 years old) in a variety of settings, including school, nursing home and inpatient hospitalization. Extensive experience with crisis intervention, Solution Focused Brief Therapy and group therapy.
